Lovely Day for a Party..

Iris wanted to invite every child from kindy, every child from playgroup, every cousin, every one of her siblings' friends etc.. I had to limit it - she is a social butterfly..

So we had a little backyard gathering for assorted pixies, fairies and ladybugs..

The weather yesterday was very spring-like.
Perfect!

Needless to say, everything you see in the photos (apart from the lovely children of course) is thrifted or handmade...
except the toadstools - I hired them from sweetcheeks (I like to support local small businesses, and it's essential to have a toadstool or 2 at a fairy party isn't it?!)

Pixie Ted and Arlo
(sidenote: I got to have cuddles with this gorgeous teeny fairy - she is our little next-door-neighbour and she was 800g when she was born! She is now 4 months old and so adorable)

Birthday Irises!

Happy Day!

(ed: if you're looking at this a second time
- spot the difference!
One of the photos has been C.R.O.P.P.E.D!!
My lungs just looked too damn big lol)

Happy 4th birthday, Iris! It looks like a magical party, so cute. She seems to have taken her responsibilities as hostess very seriously! Beautiful pic with the irises.

You? Cuddling a wee baby? Looking broody? Don't go getting any ideas, Linda! xxxxx

Themed parties are the best especially when you're a kid. I love the faux apple tree and those toadstools are the best.

What a lovely, lovely party! I'm going to have to see if I can cajole my Rosie into a fairy party when she's 4 - her birthday's in the middle of summer so it should be perfect for an outdoor party! At the moment she's set on a Diego and Alecia party... Not as much fun! ;)

What a gorgeous setting you created for a magical 4th birthday for the gorgeous wee Iris!! I so would have been dressed as a fairy, wings and all. Have done it before when I was a teacher aid, kids loved it. Happy Birthday to the sweetest four year old girl in HamilTron!
