Pile of Vintage Boys' Threads = BOOM!!

Last Tuesday I ended up at a little church op shop that I hadn't been to before... and I was so STOKED to find all these 1970s boys' clothes..

It's so hard to find them in the bigger size (3-6 years ish).. I have 4 boys - so  know!!

I find it quite easy to pick up little vintage dresses and skirts for Iris - but boys' stuff is rare in my experience!

I was SO thrilled with all this stuff.
It didn't cost much and it was all in a big pile, just waiting for me!!!

3cute little sweaters.. obviously beige and brown is a common theme!

I think it's rare to find good boys' stuff because the clothes probably don't last the treatment they get from the boy!!
Do you think? That's my theory and I'm sticking with it!

Deer cardy and a velveteen panelled one.
4 year old cord shorts (I LOVE these)
A pair of brand new looking longs, that say Size 7..
These jeans appear to never have been worn! So cool. I have a feeling we had some VERY similar ones..

T-shirt - I love it.
Mothercare tracky top.
Hoody made from a bedspread (love) and a rogue cord dress that I had to nab too..
And the best belts ever!!

Close up of the belts. We had belts like these. They are so easy to do up and can fit any size, almost.
I think I'll be wearing those..
Last is this handmade shirt, that was probably curtains before being a shirt..
Size 5 I'd say.

And to celebrate here are some family pics from the early 70s...

My twin bruv and I..
Note the twin slipper thing going on!!

My bruv, one of my sister's and two of our cousins. Paul is sporting a terrific suit, don't you think?! And I love that boat tank..

Paul and I..

Paul at kindy, wearing classic seventies boys gear... I would LOVE to find a little pair of shoes like that!!!!
And some lino just like that too!!

Happy Days!!

Don't forget, tomorrow is the end of Google Friend Connect - don't leave me!! I'm following all your blogs via bloglovin - use the thing on the right to do the same if you want....

Another day to add to my collections post/ giveaway...

You lucky thing. Very, very, very lucky thing, with a business centred around vintage children's clothing, you're absolutely correct boys gear is VERY hard to come by in good condition. I am CONSTANTLY trying to source it.

Look after that lot , won't you.

Geez those outfits bring back sweet memories. Fantastic finds!

Great old photos too. I don't have very many of my childhood because my parents didn't take them, not like nowadays when we take photos of everything...

It's very true about boy's clothes - also modern secondhand can be difficult to find. I guess boys also tend to have lees clothes than girls so items get worn more often and wear out quicker. Love the old photos x

Your old family pix are just too gorgeous! What a score with the boys clothes! I know how punishing my son is on his clothes and the ones you found look like they have been hardly worn at all. I think I love those jeans with the cool pockets the most. XXX

As a mother of two lads from my experience their clothes were either shot to hell with wear and tear because they loved them or as new because they hated them. Blokes don't seem to want alot of clothes, happy to thrash the last living breath out of the things they love!! Good scores, hope you continue to find more!!

FABULOUS!!! I love the old pictures. Brings back memories for sure of my days as a young child, but I was little in the 60s. :) I adore the boys clothes you found! I am mom to three sons, and I know how hard it is to find cute things NEW, let alone thrifted! Great job!!

Great haul! I seem to do OK for clothes in charity shops for my boy (though not vintage - he wouldn't wear it anyway!)

I never was even aware of baby thrifting till I had a baby. Now I see vintage baby clothes and get them. My mom saved a lot of my clothes, its so funny to put them on my daughter haha. She looks super 80's.

boys stuff is so hard to come by because they blow through it--my boys do anyway--they simply blow out everything I buy them!

Yup I think I can remember my boyfriend when we were 4 years old wearing that deer wrap around cardi, very cute. I totally agree about the boys wearing out clothes, sometimes I wonder if new is better for the oldest so that they can get passed down, but I guess for you worn out clothes are a reason to go op shopping yay!
