Collection Selection Linky: Fledgling Thermos Collection

What's not to love about a thermos?
They evoke images of picnics and parks, camping and nice hot cups of tea.
So good.
They also look so cute standing in a row.

This is my wee thermos collection.
I bought the floral one for 50c years ago.  John used it for his coffee at work every day up until last year when he dropped it. Smash.  It now rattles when you shake it. But it still looks cute.
I bought this lidless one at a garage sale for 50c last year. There it is, on the loo room sill.

I just pick them up when I find them. I don't actively 'hunt' them.
(My definition of hunting: searching on Trademe/ paying more than $5 for one at a garage sale or oppie. Unless it's REALLY cool)

If I did, I might end up with a collection like this:

( I believe this is linked to a thermos-lovers flickr site..)

Or a collection like this!!!

(this is a guy who collects metal only thermoses/thermii.. He has over 500..)

Y'all know I love linking up!

Great collection. I love the floral ones. I have a small collection of thermos picnic baskets. I don't have any thermoses, though.

Now I do like a flask. We are a family of three and we have 9 flasks - none nearly as fabulous as yours I must say. I like the idea of putting flowers in them. xx

I love that topless one you are using as a vase. They do all look spectacular together. I love a cup of flask coffee.

Oh yes, Thermoses are lovely. But only for coffee, NEVER tea - what are you thinking?! I like that this is a fledgling collection, and your definition of hunting - I feel the same way about my little gang of pomanders. (On the iPad and don't have the pic so can't link right now... But I will at some stage). xxxx

When I was little I wished I liked tea so that I could use a Thermos because they were always warm and looked so friendly. Adults always seemed much happier and less grumpy after they'd supped on a cuppa or two on a cold day as well :). I love your collection, so many of your finds and treasures remind me of growing up in Wellsford in the 70s. What a shame about your lovely floral thermos - I wonder if it will double as a gorgeous vase like the lovely one in the loo? xoxo

I still only have two thermoses so not quite a collection yet. And I only paid 50 cents apiece for them! I believe that things find us, we don't find things:-)
