rain rain piss off!

This was me today.
The skirt is wishful thinking. It has rained most of the week and I'm over it!
Look at the state of the place. And that's actually quite good compared to how it has been this week. Washing is piled up and getting worse. And we're having a few challenges at the mo with some of the kids....

Lucky the op shops are there for some escape and respite!

I only went to 4 this week.
Amongst other things this is what I got...
* Velvet bag
(looks like it may have been bought at Zinnia, a very cool shop)
* Barkcloth apron
* kitsch pelican vase thing (badly placed photo - doh!) to add to my collection and some cute old playskool toys..
* Fantastic orange party ware..
* old puzzles
* more table party ware - the 3 flower trays come off the main tray
* more retro table linen..
how much is enough?!
* orange storage things..
I've got quite a few of these and I LOVE them
* picnic s and p set
* groovy kids' clothes
(it's the change of season sales at most of the oppies!)

Been having fun with this (more escapism!)

Welcome to my washing rack.

Yes I still look quite pregnant! And my hair is very Mick Jagger right now.
Sheesh.
When you've got 5 kids it's easy to be number 6 in the priority list!!
Keeping it real y'all!!!!

Looking forward to the weekend and MAYBE I'll be able to get something done!
Hope the weather plays ball!

I only have one kid and my house often looks far worse than that! I love all your homewares, especially the orange partyware bowl. You seem to find all the best stuff x

My mountain of ironing is piling up but it's not worrying so neither am I.

Oh man, your house is in tip-top order compared with mine! Seriously... I keep saying I am going to have a blitz, now the kids are back at school, but I am finding it hard to get myself going. And I seem to move piles of stuff from one place to... Well, another place, but it never gets any LESS. Ah, housework, it's shitty!
So - you have my sympathies. About the housework, struggling sometimes with the kids, and the endless bloody washing! And I only have 3 kids, not 5!
Great op shop treasures though, love the party platter and the little flower trays. And the velvet bag.
Let's hope for a sunny weekend! xxxxx

Your skirt is awesome!!!!! I love your op shop treasures. I have also found picmonkey and now I know that I could do the cool things with photos that I have seen on your blog. Escapism is essential when it is raining and the house is full of washing. Thank goodness for other likeminded bloggers :-) The washing rack is great - I had one, and its amazing how much washing will fit on it.

Argh I know this rain every weekend is overrated! Cute finds, that velvet bag was a bargain, they make cushion covers in that fabric that retail for $$$...

OMG I nearly bought the same set of three trays on the one tray at St Vinnies last week. Is it the same one?? The housework fairies aren't at my place either, no excuses from me other than I cannot be arsed doing it!!! You look fabulous by the way, and yes you are a mother of many so be kind to yourself. Mums are always last on the list it is because we put ourselves there. Zinnia is my most FAVOURITE shop of all. Totally in love with that place!!!

Hi, I don't think I've commented on your blogs yet but I've been enjoying them. Your life sounds a lot like mine! I know what you mean about escaping into Picmonkey among other things, I do it too, I'd go crazy otherwise! Two of my kids are teenagers but they're as messy and probably more problematic than the little ones. Love your skirt and all your buys,that bag is really nice. xx

I personally like Mick Jagger hair. Wow mummy for 5 kids, that room looks spotless. You should see our room, and we only have 1! Hats off to you.

I have that party platter in red and white, it's the perfect server for hors d'oeuvres, darling. x

You are doing wonderfully. You have mick Jaggers hair and a face/air like Milla Jovovich.
How do you do it, and still have time to op shop is a wonder to me.
Love your blog! Love the velvet bag and orange items!
So much colour and life.
