I wasn't going to go to any Garage Sales on Saturday..
I just HAPPENED to drive past a church sale
and so Iris and I just ducked in.
I only had $5 on me
and it was 10.30
(very late in the garage sale-ing day!)
So I wasn't holding out too much hope.
But there were no other shoppers,
a relaxed vibe, and we got:
(I can't resist little 10c and 20c stickers!) |
* A couple of 80s crown lynn mugs. * A bag of souveneir dolls like my Mum had * A Made in Japan pheasant plate. Love those colours. * A girl making a funny face. |
* A cushion for the bed. |
* A rose needlepoint that someone has slaved over. beautiful. In a frame, under glass. |
This one looks like an album cover, don't you think?! Completely candid, standing on some hay bales, watching the views! |
Alpaca Love. (Did you know they make a noise like a kazoo?!) |
Mr Roberelli concert in action.. |
Best kids' music ever!!! (Here's their blog) (Yes there were other kids there apart from mine! Mine are the lunatics that aren't shy to dance!) |
She actually loved it! |

So many amazing finds, and for such good prices too! I'm jealous of the lovely needlepoint and cushion. How is it possible you got them so cheap?! And what a fun day at the fair!
That heartbeat at least looks marginally better than that red liney thing by the stadium and heaps better than the mousetrap thing in central plaza or whatever the place is called :D
Love the hay bale shot :D
the fair looks great fun, I used to love those huge slides with sacks at the Easter show
I think that was $3.30 well spent!!
Beautiful pics of a fun day for your family..
It awesome when you get a great deal. I went thrifting Saturday, I got 2 pairs of straight knitting needles, 2 circular knitting needles, dead stock darning needles, and 4 yards of fabric for ... . . $1! Yep the older gentlemen always gives me a great deal.
The needle point frame is beautiful and so is the cushion.
Looks like a great day out. Love the needlepoint. Look after it!
Love from Mum

Oooohhh, I have garage sale envy. Love that pheasant plate and the needlepoint is just beautiful. Looks like you all had a blast at the Waikato Show.
It's a lovely feeling, isn't it, rescuing some treasures from landfill, and getting great pleasure for such little money?!
Love the rose needlepoint picture.
You and the kids had a blast at the show. I love pics of kids with solemn faces, even when they are having fun! Iris was taking her ride VERY seriously! How great that your kids aren't too shy to get up and dance. Good for them. xxxx
